The Oval and Verandah
Mint Building Services was appointed to provide the complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) design and fit-out services for the refurbishment of The Oval & Verandah Restaurant at the Singapore Cricket Club.
Located within a historic venue that overlooks The Padang, this iconic dining destination required a careful approach to modernizing its infrastructure while preserving its colonial charm.
Mint handled the MEPF design and fit-out, upgrading the dining area, bar, kitchens, and restrooms to ensure smooth operations and modern functionality. The project presented unique challenges due to the heritage status of the building, requiring a seamless blend of modern MEPF solutions with the preservation of historical elements.
Working closely with design team Studio X and main contractor S&techs, Mint successfully delivered a comprehensive MEPF fit-out that supports the restaurant’s operations while maintaining its aesthetic integrity. The refurbishment was completed on time for the F1 Weekend in Singapore (20-22 September), significantly improving operational efficiency and providing a more comfortable experience for both patrons and staff.
